How WE make a difference.

According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) “According to federal guidelines, adults should perform at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity, each week. They should also do some muscle-strengthening activity, such as calisthenics or lifting weights, at least twice a week.”
Several studies have shown that the main reason why lower-income people get less exercise than higher-income people is money. What's driving those differences? According to the research, “among the nine indicators, we (CDC) analyzed, the biggest predictor of weekly physical activity at the state level was money!”
Move4Life Fund can help. We provide qualifying low-income people 6-month and 1-year functional fitness memberships to community-based gyms. We believe that the high-support community-based approach returns better long-term success rates for improving an individual's health and wellness.
Currently, the program is active and is seeking beneficiaries in the greater Columbia MD area.
A Pat on the Back
A big shout out to all the kids who didn’t win an award, make the honor roll, and barely made it through the school year. A big hug to the moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, and foster parents that stuck by them as they maneuvered the school year. To the kids that didn’t get invited to the prom, didn’t get a scholarship to college, and perhaps have to go straight to work out of high school....you are still worthy of a pat on the back and a Facebook post with people talking about how amazing you are. Some kids have to work twice as hard as other students just to get a ‘C’. Their achievements deserve recognition. Don’t forget those kids. -- author unknown
Move4Life will not forget, we were one of those kids growing up. A Pat on the Back Scholarship program is designed to jumpstart that recognition and re-establish youthful exuberance into our community to help those kids kick off their careers and their adult lives. Move4Life will pay out 1-year scholarships to qualifying high-school seniors choosing to attend local Maryland community colleges.
Currently, Move4Life Fund is building an endowment, first scholarship distributions will start in Fall 2022.
